I 13 minuti di video  è considerato come il più grande video musicali di tutti i tempi e la canzone è considerata una delle canzoni di punta di Jackson .La canzone è stata scritta da Rod Temperton e prodotto da Quincy Jones. Il video è stato rilasciato il 2 dicembre 1983 ed è stato diretto da John Landis che ha anche co-scritto la sceneggiatura con la Jackson.

E ‘stato il video più costoso del suo tempo, per un costo di US $ 500.000 e ha vinto il Guinness World Records nel 2006 come il “video musicale di maggior successo“, e ha venduto più di 9 milioni di unità.
