Correva l’anno 1965, Paul Simon e Art Garfunkel nuovo gruppo statunitense diedero vita a The Sound Of Silence il quale divenne il successo più importante degli anni sessanta.
The Sound of Silence fu concepita Paul Simon in seguito all’assassinio del presidente degli Stati Uniti John F. Kennedy, avvenuta nel 1963.
Simon, con The Sound of Silence, cercò di rappresentare il trauma provato da molti americani causato dall’improvvisa morte di un leader vigoroso e visionario qul’era il presidente Kennedy.
