Gli U2 nascono nel 1978 quando il batterista, Larry Mullen e Adam Clayton (basso), The Edge (chitarre) e Bono (voce) erano ancora studenti alla Mount Tempie School di Dublino. Il primo singolo viene pubblicato agli inizi degli anni '80 " 11O 'Clock Tick Tock ". Con i successivi 3 album "Boy" October" e "War" ebbero un enorme successo in in Uk che in USA. Hanno all'attivo + di 16 album tra registrazioni in studio, e live più numerosi singoli.
