The End (Six Mile Finish Line) Testo

Testo The End (Six Mile Finish Line)

every once in awhile i'll go outsidetake a look at the surrounding trees
sip some coffee and stumble across love letters never sent
postage marked: 1998
things i never said but i was always thinking
i had your eyes on paper and stared them down
upon all this was the leaking of my heart
i still stare at this and wonder if i should ever send it
let it flicker in a fire of past love and mistakes
the black eye shines through the brightness of it all
a leaf would fall and i would crawl
wondering if maybe you'd like to go out with me
rehash the past in ice cream and mini golf
spending weeks smiling and laughing at the mannequins in the windows
how blank they are but are the purest in the store
distractions could hold us for days
cooking a dinner fit for a queen (so here's your dinner my queen)
i still see the tears dried into the words 'i love you'
if only the mailman came around that day
actions and polaroid's
moments captured in the camera of our hearts
rolling by the time like years we're simple lovely seconds
a smile was worth a million dollars
it's the end
so long farewell, goodbyes that never end
i could kiss (drink and swallow, bit by bit) your tears
lick the salt from your cheek and let it drip on my tongue
absorb into my salivia so i could taste it for the rest of my life
i could say i'm sorry but that'd be another letter i never sent
if i were forgiven then maybe i'd change
but you know we haven't really spoken since october 5th, 1999
i still celebrate your birthday with cards i bought
but never passed your way
i hear you're growing older
that's what i get for living in the past.
